New Trochoidal Pocketing - To keep pace with the demands of high performance machining, the new Trochoidal Pocketing cycle gives you a new way to quickly rough parts at a constant material removal rate. Trochoidal Pocketing gives you multiple levels of control over tool motion pattern, feedrates, and cutter load.
Increase efficiency with existing equipment. Trochoidal tool paths let you cut at faster feedrates, faster spindle speeds, at greater depths of cut than traditional tool paths regardless of the type of machine. Tool and machine life is extended and maintenance costs reduced.
Although developed for high-speed machining, Trochoidal Pocketing brings benefits to any type of machine by providing a more constant tool load and producing a better surface finish. New Grooving Operation - ESPRIT 2006 offers several new options for working with the orientation of turning tools. These new options also apply to the grooving operation. When you set the tool orientation using these new angle options, you are actually setting the plunge direction for the grooving operation. With this option you can groove in any orientation. New SolidMill Wrap Pocketing -
The new Wrap Pocketing now includes the same machining capabilities as Traditional Pocketing to give you full control over every aspect of the tool path.
Wrap Pocketing lets you easily cut solids and 3-dimensional geometry while the stock rotates on the NC machine. Roughing passes, wall finish passes and floor finish passes can now be combined in a single operation and each type of cutting pass allows the selection of a different tool. Tool path can be produced on the OD or the ID of cylindrical stock and all tool paths are drawn in 3D for better visualization. (...more)
